Overview

Buffalo Sewer Authority is partnering with Greenprint Partners to provide the Rain Check 2.0 Green Infrastructure Grant Program. This program provides grant-funded green infrastructure on eligible nonprofit, faith-based, and mission-driven properties across Buffalo. Green Infrastructure uses soils and plants to slow down and filter stormwater. This keeps it from overwhelming our sewer system and polluting our water bodies.

  • 6 Priority Sewer Basins Overview - Types of Green Infrastructure

Green Infrastructure Benefits

Green infrastructure does more than manage stormwater runoff–it can also:

  • Address existing landscape problems
  • Beautify your property
  • Help improve your community’s quality of life
  • Reduce your water and sewer bill
  • Reduce on-site flooding

Program Participation

Though we are no longer moving forward with new projects, you can still fill out an Interest Form if you think your organization would be interested in potential future funding opportunities, and it meets the eligibility requirements. Properties must be:

  • Located in a priority basin (the purple areas shown on this map);
  • Owned by a nonprofit organization who will commit to the retrofit and 20-year maintenance deed restriction; and
  • Covered by at least 22,000 square feet (half a football field) or hard surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, and rooftops.
